Zach joined the Rae & Partners team in September 2019. Prior to that, he graduated from UTAS with a Bachelor of Laws with Honours and a Bachelor of Arts, and completed the UTAS legal practice course.
Throughout his studies, Zach assisted organisations including Worker Assist Tasmania, Advocacy Tasmania, the National Justice Project and the Community Engagement Tasmania Society (COMET). Zach is a committee member on the Worker Assist board and has also volunteered his time with the Launceston Community Legal Centre.
Zach is driven to achieve the best possible outcomes for his clients, whether prosecuting or defending a claim. He has been involved in matters before statutory tribunals, the Magistrates Court, the Supreme Court and Federal Court. He works closely with Amber Cohen, the head of litigation at Rae & Partners, across a broad civil and commercial litigation practice. Some of the key areas include:
- Estate litigation;
- Property disputes and residential tenancy applications;
- Breach of contract and debt recovery;
- Building disputes;
- Professional negligence;
- Claims relating to defective goods including under the Australian Consumer Law; and
- Insurance claims.
