Staff spotlight: Amber Scott
For Senior Associate, Amber Scott, the most rewarding aspect of her work is in helping clients achieve favourable outcomes that allow them to move forward comfortably and peacefully with their lives. She shares that it is also incredibly fulfilling to be able to make a difference in the lives of her clients by being able to offer tangible support and clarity during difficult periods.
Sparked by a desire to help individuals navigate complex legal situations and to make a positive impact in their lives, Amber completed her Bachelor of Laws and was admitted to the legal profession in 2019. Amber’s social conscience and valiant approach to her work, alongside her collegiality and attention to detail, are important attributes that have not only helped in her own professional development, but have also been integral in her recent promotion to Senior Associate at Rae & Partners.
Amber says,
“My progression within Rae & Partners has been greatly aided by the exemplary mentoring opportunities the firm fosters. The mentoring I have received has supported my career development and provided a positive introduction to the legal profession. These experiences, combined with my active engagement in the legal community, have paved the way to my current role as Senior Associate.”
Working in the Family Law team, a typical week for Amber involves a mix of interpersonal work, such as client appointments, attending court hearings, participation in mediations, and workshopping legal issues and strategies with her colleagues, and drafting documents.
Amber’s clients seek legal advice on issues related to the breakdown of a marriage or de facto relationships, which will typically see her providing legal assistance regarding children and parenting arrangements, divorce, and matrimonial/de facto property settlements.
In her work, Amber recognises the importance of trauma-informed practice, so actively engages in professional development to ensure she can best understand and respond to her client’s needs during legal proceedings.
Her commitment to her work and her clients doesn’t stop there – Amber also works hard to establish and maintain relationships between our firm with non-legal providers such as counselling services, parenting programs, post-separation support and substance issue support to further support her clients.
When not at work, Amber is an active member of her local community, sitting on the North West Football League (NWFL) Player Tribunal, presiding over matters involving the conduct of players, umpires, and other officials associated with the NWFL and its clubs.
As you can tell, Amber is a committed member of our Rae & Partners team as well as her community. She is a dedicated and passionate lawyer, and an asset to the Family Law team.
