Job Title: Consultant - Commercial Law, Property and Estate Planning

Cynthea is a Consultant who has been practising law for more than twenty years after graduating from the University of Tasmania in 2001 with a combined Commerce and Law Degree (Honours). She spent her first five years of legal practice in Melbourne at a top-tier law firm working with well-known companies including Ford and Décor. Cynthea was also seconded to the Melbourne Commonwealth Games in the lead-up to the event in 2006, where she assisted with contracts with service providers for that event.

Despite enjoying the work and attractions in Melbourne, Cynthea and her Tasmanian-born husband decided to move back to the Apple Isle in 2008 to start their family in close proximity to their life-long friends and extended families. Now with school-aged children, Cynthea thoroughly enjoys being part of the close-knit community on the North West Coast of Tasmania and assisting locals with their legal requirements.

Cynthea’s main areas of practice are:

  • Commercial and property transactions
  • Retail, commercial and residential leasing and licencing
  • Purchase and sale of commercial, agricultural and residential real property
  • Property development, including subdivision, strata and staged developments
  • Financing, securities and mortgages
  • Local Government property and commercial transactions and advice
  • Wills, estate planning and business succession planning
  • Estate administration
  • Business and farming transactions

When Cynthea is not in the office you will likely see her supporting her children in local sporting activities or in the community enjoying the North-West Coast’s facilities, parks and cafes with her much loved family and friends.
