Louis specialises in employment law and civil litigation and also maintains a small practice in estate planning. He has previously practiced in commercial and property law and occasionally accepts opportunity in those areas. With his engineering design background, he combines legal rigour with practical real-world thinking.

He advises employers and employees on all manner of employment law issues from preparing or disputing employment contracts to unfair dismissals and restraints of trade, and acts for both claimants and respondents in matters including deceased estate disputes and debt recovery. He appears regularly in the Supreme Court and the Fair Work Commission and has been spotted appearing in the Federal Courts and the Magistrates Court from time to time.

When out of the office, he generously volunteers with the Launceston Community Legal Centre and sits on the board of a well-regarded local school. In his spare time, he likes to pretend that playing golf badly is character building.
